Startoholics had a word with The CEO and Founder of Brogels, Mr. Sidharth Das and we got to know some precious tit-bits from the horse’s mouth.

“Being a first generation entrepreneur life before and now with Brogels is a complete auto-biography of memories, hardship, sacrifice, risks and commitment. Every day and every moment I’m learning new things and ideas from people around me.
Before Brogels, I was just a street smart dude with a vision to change the world with my knowledge. It made me start Makefame.org a non-profit website to showcase talents and achievements of young achievers in field of photography, acting, entrepreneurship and modelling.
Still, I was not satisfied, just needed the push to get into the real business with Brogels and merged Makefame.org to make a powerhouse of information.”
Motivation and the legend behind ‘Brogels’
The idea behind Brogels was to share information of digital trends and social media along with stories of start-ups and entertainment. In India, the blog industry is still in a bad state hence they came up with a dream to revolutionize the blog industry in Indian market and make people aware about power of information and sharing through blog platform.
“It all started from my library in KIIT University, Bhubaneswar where I was reading an article regarding the trends in era of social media. I set-up a WordPress blog and with knowledge of web designing, I started writing and soon my six best friends joined me to make it a business.”
Brogels is a Greek word that means messenger of God. And we describe ourselves as the messenger of social media to the people and we are Reinventing the web.
The first step
It all started with a blog which has now become a news-networking-shopping platform. Integrated with social networking and e-commerce, Brogels is now one stop shop of internet and media hub for the connected generation.
“We six friends made this business with our pocket money and we are bootstrapping the business. We are in talks with investors and VC Funds, many have shown interest to invest in our platform to make it a profitable business.”
Brogels – Standing apart from the rest
Brogels is not only a media property, but a hub for every age group to learn new things every day that has been changing the way we see and live our life.
Social media is not how you do it; it’s how well you can do it.
“We make people lean the power of new trends coming to market of digital world and social media every day. Roadblocks and overcoming them
Staying relentless in the face of challenges and understanding the use and exchange of resources are essential to entrepreneurship.
“I think if you can do two things, you naturally become an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are some of the most fearless people with crazy ideas to take risks and stand apart from the crowd. Entrepreneurs also need to know how to sell, be smart with money, make connections and stay focused.
And try not to down in opportunity. Life of an entrepreneur is a parabola curve, there are ups and downs in every campaign, never lose hope. Focus.”
The Way Ahead
With the exception of certain business and certain industries, social media is becoming something that is somewhat expected. It’s a sign of legitimacy. It also contributes to SEO, and can be used to pull customers all the way through purchase process.
“I think it’s very important to demonstrate ROI and we are building a great team to market our products through events, workshops and many agendas have been ideated to put into action. Content is King, stick to it.
We have been continuously revising our business model and generating new source to get new and innovative news and information before it breaks out. Creativity is what we looking for and we are building a great team who can create new stories. We are putting stress on social media marketing and campaigns to take Brogels to next level and get more and more readers. User engagement is revenue.”
Team Brogels has also founded The Kyrus which is a start-up accelerator.
“Being a start-up, we witnessed the problems and hardships that we faced first to execute our ideas. There are a lot of such ideas that are overlooked and don’t get a proper platform for the growth.
The one and only purpose of Kyrus is to help students and college start-ups by giving a platform to carry out research with proper infrastructure and connecting them to angel investors and VCs to raise funds for their future growth. We are still in development stage, but we will soon be creating a boom in start-up ecosystem in India.”
An advice from the King
“An entrepreneur’s life is full of risks. If you can live with it, you are definitely going to live a life most people dream of. Never lose hope, execute your ideas as fast as you can. Believe in your own instincts and take comments of others positively. Never compete make yourself more valuable. Start focusing on handful of things and give a shape to your ideas. Fear not, things will go easy once you are addicted to it. You are born to be a star, live like an icon and die like a legend.”
