“The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”
― Sylvia Plath
Are you sick of conventional gift ideas and wish to opt for something that is strikingly informal with off the wall creativity? With offbeat products like an Octopus surprise MUG, Blood Bath Shower Gel, Batman Cufflinks and other numerous whacky Computer and Mobile Accessories, Whysoserious will certainly put a smile on your face with its products. “We are not here to make sense, we make sense every day at work, at our home and everywhere else, so this is a place where you can go totally nuts.” added Khushboo Bisht, the wondrous brain behind this website who belongs to an advertising background and is trying her best to learn something new everyday in the online world.
There are ideas everywhere and there are awesome ideas all around the world. The product design has gone to a different level outside the country and those products are not just creative but very practical. Khushboo always loved them and she reckoned that India needed stuff like those and hence decided to get them for our people. Most of the products are made by individual designers but the site also offers some branded products.
According to Khushboo, the look of the site stands out from the crowd. “Now that everyone is getting into this whole futuristic gaming era, I decided to step back and build the site around the games I grew up on, hence the space invaders and the robots. The look of the site has been designed by my husband Pulak Bisht and it actually stands out, when someone comes to the site. It doesn’t seem like any run of the mill site, but it sets the tone just right. From our customer support to the way the site has been designed to the content, everything is very non clinical. Everything seems very easy going and relaxed.” She also says that the entire team is very non-business minded and is a bunch of very easy going people who deliberately want to keep the work culture that way.
Khushboo wants Whysoserious to go crazier and wants to widen the scope of the site, so that more and more artists can participate and associate with them. She also wishes to have shops in major cities as she believes it would be wonderful to interact with the customers face to face.
When asked about the entrepreneurs she admires the most, this is what she had to say-“Before I got into business and when I used to have a job, I would answer such questions without actually thinking. But now that I am an entrepreneur and have seen the amount of hard work and struggle that actually goes into it, I admire all entrepreneurs, big, small, super small , everyone. Doing a business isn’t easy at all!”
The entrepreneur advices others to never give up on their ideas and execute them without fear as she is of the opinion that over thinking eventually kills everything; “If you have an idea execute it. Sooner or later it will show good results. Also, don’t get too restless. Business isn’t like a normal 9-5 job and results will come but not overnight. So never get disheartened and keep working.”
