We have a list of five simple resolutions for our Entrepreneurs to follow this New Year!

1. Fire someone!

It has taken you endless days and nights to reach the level where you stand today and surely you have a great rapport with each employee of yours but it is better to leave your personal relations outside the boardroom. If you know the person is not efficient in their work, fire them! Go ahead, take this new year’s resolution and be the boss!

2. Hire someone

You may be the boss and you have a lot of knowledge but that doesn’t mean you have the experience in every field. If a certain field requires the expertise of an outside person then hire someone. There is absolutely no shame in hiring an extra hand and this is one of the most important new year’s resolutions as it will only make your business grow.

3. Learn something new

This is one of the new year resolutions that can be applied to not just business but different areas of life. They say every coming second there is something new that the world learns about. It is always good to keep yourself updated about the new on goings in the market. You are never too old to learn and thanks to the internet one can take up a million courses online. Keep aside an hour each day and explore another new area. Sign up for online courses, learn a new language, attend webinars or pursue your hobby. Like Amitabh Bachchan said in one of his TV ads “Sikhna band toh jeetna band” (If you stop learning, you stop winning)

4. Take a break!

Yes yes you need this the most. Do not frown at the screen! Go ahead book the tickets and go on that vacation you have been delaying for so many years! It’s good to get away from the arduous city and office life ands not only is this essential for mental and emotional peace but it also helps to strengthen relations with the family you conveniently forget about when confined in the four walls of your work space. Do it for them, they deserve it the most.

5. Magic Words

The first thing a kid is taught in the Moral Science class is the three magic words –Sorry, Please and Thank You. Ring any bells? Take a couple of minutes out of your super hectic schedule and say the words to all those that deserve to hear it from you. Employees, colleagues, partners, family, friends and every other person you can think of. Nothing makes someone’s day better than a word of appreciation or a thank you.
