ICreate Counseling center is a platform for individuals who can take professional help from Psychologists for personal or professional issues in life. They also help by conducting career assessment and career counseling for students and other type of assessments and counseling for kids, teens and adults. ICreate aims to help others create one’s own life choices, tackle difficulties in life and encourage taking a stand in their personal and professional arena.

Being always pressured to take any mainstream profession for job security which actually led to job dissatisfaction and that is when Shoaib Electricwala and Fatema Rexinewala realized the difference between job and career. The struggle to find significance in life came to end for a new beginning called ICreate.

How long did it take to put together I create?

The internal turmoil for making life and living worthwhile and hunt for self-worth got its answer just like Eureka! The idea was conceptualized on 17^th June 2013, 1.43am, and its verticals were listed in a jiffy. Since then it has been four months and we are striving to get its operation smoother.

How difficult has the journey been? Any stories you would like to share?

Any journey started smooth and easy is never memorable. We have been lucky to experience the struggles and hurdles which have only helped us learn and grow leaps and bounds with rich experiences. With strong internal self – belief and amazing external support the process of learning and growing has been fruitful.

In the initial days of its bloom, ICreate suffered a major hurdle where our principal company was made to go against ICreate and was discouraged to do any business with ICreate by our ex-employer and ex-company. But as they say any business is built majorly on relationships, so only because of our honest and sincere relationship with Directors of our principal company, we were able to retain and continue doing business with them. If not for that relation, we wonder what shape ICreate would have taken.

How do you plan to monetize I create? Do you have any tie-ups?

Being an All India Associate and on Research and Advisory Board for our principal company, we have been authorized to use and re-sell the career assessment which is used for career planning for students or professionals looking for job switch or higher job satisfaction. We build our own network of channel partners like Psychologist, counseling and assessment agencies across India who would be authorized by ICreate to use our career assessment on their clientele.

We do have our own center at C.S.T where our team handles clients directly too. We also provide training and certificate courses for budding counselors and provide genuine internship opportunities to gain rich first-hand experiences.

What is next in line for I create?

Next in line is to get our office ready and fully functional for private practice i.e. where we could start seeing clients for career counseling and personal counseling. Our website is in the pipeline, which will be active very soon.

What is the hardest aspect about this job?

Nothing seems hard, when the team support is exceptionally great and self-belief is strong. Also the passion turned profession has always made challenges look like opportunities. We have only learnt till now and would feel lucky to be learning and improvising all the time.

What has been the one important lesson you’ve learned in this journey?

Criticisms will be many; listening to your heart is the only solution. Business is about taking risks and learning and from experiences may be good or bad and moving on.

Lastly, one piece of advice for our budding startup entrepreneurs.

Be your own competitor. You have no competition if your product and/or service are ultimate. Respecting gestation period is the key for all new startups.
