The value of a man should be seen in what he gives.

– Albert Einstein

The man with the formula E= mc2 did found the path of success after crossing countless hurdles, sometimes stumbling upon many of them. But two things remained constant with him throughout the journey – his words and his actions. Albert Einstein, a name sufficient enough for people to look up to, to get inspired from. There must have been numerous instances when you have heard people telling you, “You’re no Einstein.” Be it in terms of comparing you with the great personality or be in terms of being sarcastic to you. The reason is Albert Einstein with time has become the epitome of intellect and people consider him to be the milestone that one should aim to reach for.

Most of the world knows Einstein as an all rounder; a scientist, a great thinker, a creative artist and also a “could-have-been” entrepreneur. Yes, that is right. Many of his traits can be used to start up a business of your own. Some of Einstein’s words mentioned below would make the job easier for you:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge”

People who have been able to build up a successful career in IT sector possess almost same level of in-depth knowledge about computer and technical skills. But what made Larry Page and Sergey Brin stand apart from the rest of the world was the sheer imagination that out of numerous ways, there is one certain better way to search the web and hence Google was invented.

“The only real valuable thing is intuition”

Intuition is a big quality to be possessed by the entrepreneurs. It is like the inner voice that makes you do what you want to do but are skeptical about. There might be times when your intuitions will prove to be wrong but it is indeed worth listening to it. Intuition gives you the courage, the confidence to be yourself and stand apart from the rest.

It was his intuition that made Einstein explore many other fields whereas theoretical physics used to be his fortay. For an entrepreneur like Hugh Hefner; it was the intuition that made him believe that adult men would pay for erotic magazines filled with pictures of nude women. If he wouldn’t have listened to his intuition, Playboy wouldn’t have acquired itself a position in the list of most popular and best sold magazines.

“The important thing is not to stop questioning”

If the curiosity stops so does the creation. Imagine if Einstein would have stopped being curious, all we would have got was his thoughts about Relativity inside his brains and not the Theory. Thus, one important factor for being an entrepreneur is to keep the curiosity alive inside. The more an entrepreneur will come up with questions like “What?”, “How?” , “Why?”,  “When?”,  the more improvement will be reflected in terms of the products she/he would launch or the service she/he would provide to the global market. It is simple, if there is no question there won’t be any answer. 🙂

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new”

mistake

Without mistake there can never be the knack of doing it the right way! No entrepreneur can be all perfect and in fact they shouldn’t be. In order to explore or learn something new, one has to go through downfalls in life. It is like the myth that you can’t learn how to ride bicycle unless and until you have experienced cuts and bruises. Even the brainiac Einstein made the biggest blunder of inventing Cosmological Constant while exploring Theory of Relativity. 😉

“Stay on top of tech”

Einstein had the simplest equation; a successful career should be combined with work, play and nap. But when it comes to work, a person should be on the top of skills and knowledge. Same equation applies for the entrepreneurs as well. An entrepreneur, irrespective of his/her business genre, should have an in-depth knowledge and technical skills relevant to his/her business. He/she should be the master, the undisputed champion in his/her field of business.

His words reflect every quality that an entrepreneur should possess. It is interesting how in spite of him not being an entrepreneur, aspiring startup founders look up to him as a benchmark. However, from the above discussion, it is pretty much clear that given a situation, Albert Einstein could have emerged out as one of the most promising entrepreneurs in the history of entrepreneurship.
