Tell us how it all started – where did your vision for The Humming Notes come from?

Ambica has been a journalist for more than 15 years and Supriya wanted to get into creative writing. She had been working with a government related subject earlier in the media. We wanted to do something more than the regular stuff that was coming out in the market, something more in-depth and creative as well as informative. As Dhruv is doing his MBA, we roped him in to help us handle the operations, marketing and other technical stuff. And sitting in a café in Connaught Place, mulling over our cups of coffee and doughnuts, we came up with The Humming Notes.

To anyone who’s never come across The Humming Notes, how would you describe it?

It is a rainbow under which you feel like humming all the notes of life, a place where you can see every colour and get a taste of everything.

Who do you see as your target audience?

Anyone and everyone, as journalists we are used to seeing a circle and not a dot.

One week!

How involved are you with fundraising?

Currently, our focus is on quality content. For fundraising, Dhruv is planning a strategy while we build our content base to really package the blog.

What is next on the radar for The Humming Notes?

We plan to cover events and stories across the country and register our presence  all over the great www!

How difficult has the journey been? Any stories you would like to  share?

Till now the road has been quite smooth except for one or two speed-breakers.  Once we  were invited for a food review and the person concerned didn’t turn up at  the last moment. It was a disappointing experience, but not a deterrent. We learnt  to be more  careful with our appointments.

 We shall be part of a global network.

If not for The Humming Notes, where would you be now?

Oh, most likely under a banner doing the same stuff day in and day out. But to be colourful and happy, we have thehummignnotes

What one piece of advice would you give to soon to be start-up founders?

Use your experience and be patient. Learn before you zoom in fast and don’t let anything stand in the way of your morale and ethics.
