Photodilse.com is a web based photo-sharing platform which allows anyone from an amateur using a point and shoot camera to a professional using full frame, high end models to share their work. Photoartists can share their work across 12 genres which include Wildlife, Wedding (Pre/Post), Monochrome, Macro, Landscape, Street, Fine art, etc. The prime focus of Photodilse.com is to help promote the art of amateur and ‘learning’ photographers as they believe that they are ‘Stars of The Future’.

The Founders, Mr. Sudeep Samantha and Mr. Shailesh Lad are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from Wilson College, Mumbai. Their start in the field of IT was indeed a humble one which started with designing of a Chemistry portal named S2chem.com. One success followed another and Photodilse was one of them.

“The beginning of Photodilse was not a result of a ‘Eureka Moment’. It was a casual thought which came to our mind while having a casual conversation in our college canteen. It was a mere thought and had to be refined several times. Once we believed that the idea had enough potential we placed it in front of several photographer friends. Initially, they all loved the concept and agreed to contribute with their photographs. However, the agreement didn’t last long and most of them bailed out at the last moment leading to the delay in launch of Photodilse.” adds Sudeep. The website went online on 25th May, 2013 and has received a fabulous response ever since.

Each photoartist submitting photoart regularly will be awarded a separate page on the website. The page will include a short biography of the photoartist along with an interview that will feature on the website. Photoartists will be allowed to promote their art, get potential clients and thereby spread their business.

Photodilse is one of its kind website in several ways. Unlike other websites it doesn’t just feature top photographers but believes in sharing the work of amateurs. Most photography websites would reject the work of amateurs saying it wouldn’t meet their standards. They however, publish the art of enthusiastic and deserving photographers thus providing them an exclusive platform to share their talent at the international level.

Sudeep believes Photodilse is not a mere website but a community. A community where a German photographer is mentoring and guiding a Delhi based amateur artist and an artist from Israel is sharing his work and gaining fans and followers from Indonesia.

One of the toughest tasks that Photodilse faced was difficulty in acquiring the images of world-famous photo artists. When they started Photodilse, one of the aims was to create a stock website for selling photographs. They approached several photographers but it was not working out as expected and they got a big ‘NO’ from many. Having rejected multiple times, they realized that the task at hand was not at all easy without much prior experience. After realizing the problem, it was decided to publish photographs and interviews without charging a penny and that’s how they created a unique platform. As of today, they have been recommended by several renowned artists to transform Photodilse into a Stock-Photo Website. They are working on a creative model that will incorporate various changes into the website making it a photo publisher and seller.

In any business, people around you are the most important resource. The earlier you learn to use them, the better it would be for your growth. They initially underestimated the man power around them but now it is one of their main strengths- The team of Photodilse.

When asked about their competitors, Sudeep humbly says, “We are our own competitors. We try to constantly upgrade our website and take it to even greater heights which help us to remain competitive with ourselves and others.”

Currently they do not employ a marketing strategy and featuring quality work is the main priority of the team. “We never expected to get the love and appreciation we received so early in our journey. Photodilse on the day of its inception received around 2500 visitors and the rest as they say is history. Team Photodilse hasn’t turned back since and the website has amassed more than 25000 users and 5 Lakh page views in just 6 months.” enthusiastically said Sudeep.

The biggest upcoming project is – the Photodilse Magazine, which is dedicated to photography and photographers. The magazine will be launched this coming year.

“Don’t just dream, believe in your dreams – get started, it’s the most difficult thing to do.” is Sudeep’s advice to our budding entrepreneurs!

An array of pictures to look at and not one seems clicked by an amateur! Photodilse is one interesting website for not just photographers but even those that hold a good eye for a good picture. Worth a visit and certainly worth submitting if you are hiding some amazing photographs in your album titled ‘amateur’.
