Startoholics had the opportunity to indulge in a conversation with Co-Founder and CEO, Mr. Vivek Vyas. Here is an excerpt of the interview.

To anyone who has never come across Shradhanjali.com, how would you describe it?

Shradhanjali.com is India’s first ever online memorial portal which helps us relive the memories of our deceased loved ones and ancestors. One can publish and share photos; biography in multiple languages, unlimited condolence messages (multiple languages available), embedded videos, set religious background music, set birth and death anniversary reminders for friends and relatives and prepares a ready reference of our loved ones for future generations.

What motivated this start up?

The idea came in fluke while having snacks as the snacks were served on a piece of the newspaper obituary column page we felt a bit disturbed and these thought “can’t these be presented in some more respectable and presentable manner which also stays forever and can be accessed globally and be remembered and shared?” These questions made us go about this noble cause.

Has Shradhanjali.com got the feedback and growth you expected since launch?

The response has been phenomenal since the launch, yes being a very new service which people have never come across we need to fully explain and demonstrate it live before we sell the subscription. Yes, it has been liked by one and all.

How involved are you with fundraising?

As of now it is a self funded venture. However, now we are open to funds.

How do you plan to monetize Shradhanjali.com?

Well, since we do not accept any advertisements on the portal in order to maintain the absolute decorum of the profiles. We charge a nominal rate of INR 2700 per profile, no renewals are to be paid.

Once we receive the funds we will start promoting the portal to highlight the service across the nation

Have you had any failures and what did you learn from them?

We have not faced any failure yet we admit that we have been through difficult times but as they say “tough times do not survive; tough people do”. The learning is “if you are going through hell, keep going”
