About 200 students, parents, principals and student counsellors were recapitulated about the programme by the TYE team and industry experts, who are of the opinion that this programme would help children to think about entrepreneurship at an early age.

It is a 16 weeks programme for students from Grade 9^th to 12^th and the participating students will go through an intensive and interactive Entrepreneurial Training programme. 30 students will be shortlisted for the TYE 2013-2014 program from the applications received and teams of 5-6 members of varied age, background & interest will be formed. Each team will get a dedicated mentor who will guide the team throughout the 16 weeks programme.

For the first 8 weeks, the programme will include topics like Understanding Entrepreneurship, Opportunity Recognition, Marketing, Finance and Funding, Business Law, Business Models, Presentation and Team Building Skills. During the next 8 weeks, students will be asked to make business prototypes. So basically, it’s an amalgam of theoretical knowledge and hands on practical experience to achieve 2 objectives in the young kids, first to have the basic knowledge required to develop an idea into an executable business plan and secondly to have the required skills that can translate them in to a professional in day to day activities. The program schedule involves mentoring, inspirational talks, hands-on classroom instruction, workshops by established industry leaders to cultivate creativity, self confidence & innovation. It also includes visits to companies and business plan creation.

Towards the end of the programme, participants will get Certificates and the jury will then pick the winners presenting the best business plan. The winning team will get an opportunity to represent TYE-Hyderabad on a global competitive platform and the winners at the global level will receive a cash prize of US $ 10,000.

Since 2007, TiE Hyderabad under its ‘Buddies’ program has been providing mentorship to school students locally by experts from various domains and industries. This year, to bring the programme onto the Global platform, TiE Hyderabad has come up with an entrepreneurship programme for school kids to foster entrepreneurship amongst them.
