Animation has turned into an international activity and is no longer the monopoly of Hollywood. It’s the in thing and more and more advertisers today are opting for animated ads. Apart from being catchy, such ads also provide entertainment to the audiences. No wonder India’s Largest Online Bus Ticket Agent, redBus.in has come up with a television campaign of three animated TVCs. The ads have been created by Lowe Lintas with the tagline “When you gotta go, you gotta go.” The campaign shows how easily consumers can book tickets, especially if the journeys are unplanned and unavoidable.

 

The first 21 seconds TVC shows an old couple. The man is sleeping on his rocking chair and the lady is drying the dishes. She receives a message stating, “It’s a baby girl”. The next scene shows the logo of redBus.in and the couple is shown with bags and balloons, indicating they’ve left to celebrate the birth of the child. The ad ends with the super, “When you gotta go, you gotta go.”

 

The second TVC shows a man eating his lunch but doesn’t seem to be too happy and looks bored. A fly is hovering around him and his food. He receives a text message from his mother stating. “Made your favourite fish curry! Missing you! – Ma”. The fly falls on his food and he slides the plate away. The next scene shows the redBus.in logo indicating he is heading towards his mother and fish curry.

 

The third ad deals with the impression of rating feature on people. A group of four girls is heading towards Goa and one of them is pregnant. Since she is pregnant, she only wants the best of services and rejects two buses due to their low ratings received on redBus.in and finally goes for the one that has received a five-star rating.

The ads have been made in achromatic mode and everything is in shades of Black and White except the redBus.in logo. The main idea was to show compelling and unavoidable situations when people simply have to go. As most of the bus journeys are unplanned, it leads to difficulty in getting tickets and therefore the ads showcase the expertise of redBus.in in such predicaments.
