Diabeto is a non-intrusive Bluetooth powered hardware device which enables the transfer of Glucose readings from Glucometer into a Smartphone. It’s a combination of hardware and an Android app that helps patients to manage their diabetic records. The Bluetooth device can be connected into a Glucometer and then the data can be wirelessly transmitted to the mobile. The readings can then be analysed with the help of an Android application and where you can analyse sugar shifts, history and even email the graph to your Diabetologist to understand your health progress.

Meet the Founders of Diabeto

Amir Shaikh

Amir is an entrepreneur, technologist, and angel investor. He is the co-founder and CEO of Diabeto and also looks after online advertising. The Diabeto team also managed to get angel funding from him. He holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from McGill University. He was also the co-founder of Yousendit.com where he looked after growth, revenue generation and raised funds. He is an investor in WikiOrgCharts which a cloud based social CRM tool.

Hemanshu Jain

With over 6 years of work experience in the field of Digital Marketing, he manages operations at Diabeto. He has worked with Yahoo, Media2Win, HDFC life and was the Head of Digital Marketing in Ticketplease.com, a venture by Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and producer Nitin Manmohan.

Shreekant Pawar

Shreekant is the chief marketing officer handling marketing and sales of Diabeto. Shreekant holds an MBA from the University of Northampton, UK. He was also a part of Yousendit.com where he was a 5^th employee and worked directly with the co-founders. He also started a video animation website and sold it after securing angel funding. His entrepreneurial mind then started Tritone Tech, a mobile applications development company, and grew it to 70 employees with annual revenues of $250K.

The Diabeto team plans to add up some more features and sell the device directly to the patients. They also plan on releasing Application Programming Interface and charge third parties like hospitals and mobile app developers for using it. They are also looking forward to tie-ups with health insurance companies.

The unique idea of a Bluetooth device to control diabetes is certainly laudable. Soon, just like Gaming apps there will be a deluge of Health apps which will guide people on a daily basis to reconstruct their lifestyle and opt for a healthier living!
